What is the South Beach Diet Weight Loss Program ?

South Beach Diet teaches you a way of life where you count on the right fats and carbohydrates.  This allows you to avoid having the bad carbohydrates and fats.  If you eat the right things, then you will be healthier and you will succeed in losing weight.  It works in three phases – Phase One, Phase Two, and Phase Three.  Now, it has the so called South Beach Diet Supercharged which promises to work faster.  It differs to Atkins Diet in a way that it minimizes fat.  Atkins promotes fat, but not trans fat.  Read other reviews to understand better these kinds of diet.

South Beach Diet Phase 1

In this phase, the person eats usual portion sizes but all food items rich in carbohydrate are controlled. It focuses on lean meats like chicken, fish, turkey, and shellfish. It lasts for two weeks.  Check out the following menus for Phase 1.

Recipes

  • Breakfast: It should consist of food items rich in protein like eggs, tofu, meat, or cottage cheese. You should also include a serving of vegetables or tomato juice.  Drink a cup of coffee or tea.
  • Lunch: Include in your menu a serving of protein. The size is not restricted but don’t overeat.  For vegetables, go for beans.  You can also have salads with 1-2 tbsp of dressing.  Drink water.
  • Dinner:  Your meal should have a serving of protein, several servings of vegetables which include legumes.  You can have dairy food for your dessert.  For your drink, grab a beverage that is calorie-free.
  • Snacks:  This type of diet requires two snacks a day.  An ideal snack should have a vegetable and a protein food.  You can have vegetables dipped into a bean dip, or a hard-boiled egg together with raw veggies. Nuts are also great snack.  Include nuts on your shopping list.

Prior to starting a weight loss program or diet, you need to make sure that a certain diet is good for you.  For those who have health problems, you need to meet your doctor first.  Don’t compromise your general health just to lose weight.
