How to Cook Maja Blanca

maja blancaMaja Blanca is one of my favourite desserts. It’s a Filipino recipe which anyone couldn’t resist, perfect for the Panlasang Pinoy. This Filipino style recipe is often also called Coconut Pudding, a tasty, easy to cook dessert. One thing that is so good about this is, the ingredients you will need are just common and you can have them anywhere. It’s also very easy to prepare. This is perfect for parties and special occasions.

Take these basic ingredients for your Maja Blanca.
8 cups coconut milk
30 ounces whole sweet kernel corn
10 tbsp toasted grated coconut
28 ounces condensed milk
1 1/2 cup cornstarch
1 1/2 cup fresh milk
1 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Cooking Maja Blanca won’t be so hard. How to cook maja blanca can easily be followed through these steps:

1. Prepare the ingredients and utensils you’ll need.
2. In a cooking pot, pour in the coconut oil, put over heat and bring to boil.
3. Next is to add the sugar, condensed milk and the sweet kernel corn.
4. Stir the mixture evenly and simmer for about 8 minutes.
5. In a separate pot, combine the fresh milk and cornstach together and mix til the corntarch is properly diluted
6. Add or pour the cornstarch and fresh milk mixture in the cooking pot and be sure to stir it thoroughly.
7. Let it cook while stirring it.
8. When it reaches your desired thickness for the mixture, remove over heat.
9. In a serving tray, pour the mixture and flatten the top with spatula .
10. Put toasted grated coconut on top if you wish to.
11. Let it cool down and refrigerate if for about 1-2 hour.
12. Serve your delicious maja blanca with cold drinks. Enjoy!
