Excessive Flatulence – Causes, Remedies, Treatment

excessive flatulenceOur body has its own way of releasing gas inside us.  It may be good for our body but it won’t be good for someone who has to smell it.  Flatulence may be released outside the body but it is usually has a smelly or foul smell and sound.  It would be embarrassing for someone who has to release it.   So, what are the symptoms, causes, remedies/ treatment and prevention for excessive flatulence ?   Is there any medication or home remedy that you can try to lessen the excessive gas in your body?

SYMPTOMS:

  1. belching or eructation
  2. burping
  3. excessive bloating
  4. abdominal pain or discomfort

CAUSES:

  1. high fat diet
  2. intestines problems like ulcer
  3. constipation
  4. irritable bowel syndrome
  5. swallowed air while eating or drinking
  6. too much fibrous food  intake

REMEDIES / TREATMENT:

  1. Ginger. Chew some fresh ginger after every meal.
  2. Turmeric Powder.  Add salt to turmeric powder and mix well.  Then add the mixture to warm water, and drink.
  3. Apple cider vinegar.  Add two tsp on warm water, then drink daily.
  4. Warm water or herbal tea.  Drink warm water or herbal tea every after meal to avoid gas from forming inside your stomach.
  5. Taking some drugs or medicine may help also.  Try Beano before meals. This will promote good digestion.

PREVENTION:

  1. Avoid gas forming food such as cabbage, beans, cheese, broccoli, eggs, prunes and fried food.
  2. Chew your food slowly and when drinking warm drinks avoid slurping on it because it will let you swallow more air.
  3. Don’t lie down after eating and avoid slouching when you’re eating.
  4. Avoid spicy and oily food.
  5. Avoid drinking too much carbonated drinks.
  6. Don’t smoke.
  7. Exercise or take a walk after eating a heavy meal.

If you are experiencing excessive gas release or flatulence even after you have done all these things then it is about time that you should see your doctor.
