How to Cook Chopseuy

cook chopsueyChopseuy is one of the favorite dishes of Filipinos.  A recipe which is simple and effortless to prepare.  A lot find it delicious for it gives a satisfying taste. This food is healthy for it is a combination of meat and vegetable.  It’s like two in one recipe.  This dish was an adaptation of the classic dish from China which has been practiced by the Filipino cuisine. Here are the steps on how to cook Chopseuy.

Steps in Making Chopseuy

  1. Prepare the ingredients you will be needing.
  2. Heat the oil and sauté garlic and onion until brown. Add the pork, shrimp and then the fish balls.  Mix together and wait til the meat is tender.
  3. Pour in the cubed carrots, potatoes and chicken broth.  Mix the ingredients altogether.
  4. Put soy sauce, water and dissolved cornstarch and stir to mix the ingredients. Let it boil for about 15 minutes.
  5. Place all the remaining ingredients (broccoli/ cauliflower and snow peas).
  6. Leave it foe another 2 minutes.
  7. Add pepper and salt to taste.
  8. Enjoy your meal with your family.

Here are the Ingredients in Cooking Chopseuy

  • 1 pound of pork, cut into cubes
  • 2 cup shrimp shelled
  • 4 cups of fish balls, also in cut in cubes
  • 3 chopped cloves of garlic
  • 2 chopped medium-sized onion
  • 1 lbs of string snow peas
  • 4 tbps of cornstarch dissolved in 1 cup of water
  • 2 head of broccoli, chopped
  • 2 medium-sized carrot cut it diagonally
  • 4 medium-sized potatoes, cu in cubes
  • 4 tbps soy sauce
  • 6 cups water
  • Salt and pepper

I’m sure Filipinos are not just the only ones who have adopted this recipe. Americans do have their own version too.  Don’t stick too much on procedures, for one good cook, you must remember this don’t forget to enjoy and fill it with love.  Happy cooking!
