How to Cure Infected Ear Piercing

  1. Perform proper handwashing before attempting to provide treatment on the affected area.  Most sites tell you to clean it with an alcohol or hydrogen peroxide;  however these can be too harsh on the skin so opt for a home remedy instead.  You can make a paste of turmeric powder and apply on the area topically.  You can also clean the wound with a normal saline solution.
  2. Salt water compress application can also be put on the area of affectation thus allowing it to heal.  Mix 1/8 of teaspoon of salt into a cup of warm water.  With a cotton ball, dip in on the mixture, and apply on the ear. Epsom salts can actually be alternative to this.  This can be done atleast two times a day until the infection subsides.
  3. Another cure is through application of antibiotic ointment to the site of piercing to promote healing faster.
  4. Get the correct jewelry.  Oftentimes, allergic reaction is the common cause why your ear gets infected.  So make sure that you choose the jewelry that you won’t get allergic to.

If symptoms seen on the ear seems to be unable to subside, then seek the help of a doctor immediately.  The doctor may actually give you some antibiotics which you can take to eliminate the infection in time.  This is how to treat infected ear piercing.
