Prevent Oily FaceFor some people, having oily face is really a big inconvenience.  Having excessive oil on the nose and T-zone area poses the skin to numerous problems like acne, and blackheads. And if this continues, it can flatten a man or a woman’s self esteem and confidence.

Are you frantic on how to prevent oily face? Does having shiny, thick, and dull colored oily skin make you feel embarrassed to face other people?  Though to get rid of greasy face isn’t as simple as we think, there are arrays of tips that you can take to remove oily face.  But before we go about on how to prevent oily face, first we need to know first what causes oily skin.  Continue reading on.

At the onset of adolescence, having oily skin becomes common to teenagers. The sebum production increases during puberty stage, but it can occur at any age. Hormonal imbalances which happen during pregnancy can also disrupt the oil balance leading to increase production of sebaceous glands.

How to Prevent Oily Skin

If having an oily face ruining your day, then lucky you! Because there are number of ways that will help you keep your oily skin from being a burden. Keep you facial oil in check by checking the tips below:

  • Keep your skin clean at all times. Make sure that you wash your face twice a day using glycerin soap.  After washing, use a gentle cleanser suited for oily skin.  Avoid cleansers that are alcohol based.
  • Moisturize your face using water based moisturizers.  Moisturizers actually reduce the amount of sebum that your body produces.
  • Use cosmetics or make-up that doesn’t block or clog your pores. Nowadays, there are a couple of cosmetics that is made especially for prevention of oily skin.
  • Clay and mud mask can also be great to prevent oily face.  They can be used to reduce your skin’s oiliness.
  • Eat a healthy diet.  Increase consumption of green leafy vegetables as well as fruits.  Also, take a diet that is rich in protein but less in sugar, salt, and fluids.  Reduce the amount of fats.
  • Drink plenty of water to flush out toxins and keep you hydrated.

Having oily skin can really be very troublesome, but following the tips given above can make you worry less about them. However, if cases of facial oiliness are extreme, it is better to talk to your dermatologist for further treatment of the condition.
