how to use contact lensEyeglasses are the best thing to wear when you have eyesight problems; however they can make you look older and may be considered as out of fashion.   So you can throw away those glasses and try using contact lenses or contacts to look more trendy and fashionable.   Contact lenses could be use as daily wear or night wear depending on your needs.  But how to use contact lenses ?

This article will help you answer that question especially if you are going to use contacts for the first time.   Just simply follow these simple instructions on how to use contact lenses:

  • Make sure your hands are clean and dry. Wash your hands with antibacterial soap and dry them using a clean towel.  Make sure you cut your fingernails short because they could cause irritation on your eyes.
  • When you’re done washing your hands, you may open the case where your lenses are placed. Remove the contact lenses from the case carefully.  Put the lens on your index finger on your right hand and use the middle finger to gently pull the lower eyelid downward. Then gently pull your upper eyelid upward using a finger on the other hand and put the lens on your eye.
  • When the lens is already placed in the eye, release the lids and blink for few times to place the lens in the eye properly.
  • Just apply and repeat the above instructions to put the lens on the other eye.

Proper hygiene should be observed in wearing contact lenses.   In cleaning your contacts don’t use water and soap, all you have to use is a sterile saline solution.   Make sure you remove your lenses before hitting the sack or before you sleep.   Constant wearing or prolong usage of contacts especially if you are using these for the first time may not be good so try to use them for few hours only.  Never use expired lenses.
