Largest Cat – World Records

As of 2009 and 2010 Hercules holds the Guinness  Record for the largest cat. It is a liger, born from a lion father and tiger mother.  The parents of Hercules are of the same genus but of different species.  This large cat has a weight of 900 pounds, and a height of 12 feet.  See the photo below.

The speed of Hercules is up to 50 mph and can consume 100 pounds of food in just one sitting.  Most ligers are recognized for their huge body but they are unhealthy.  The ligers are actually the largest cats. However, Hercules has come out with the best from both feline races.  This giant animal is not to be scared of because it is very tame.  On the other hand, tigons or tiglons also have lion and tiger parents but they are usually smaller compared to ligers.

• Smallest cat: The name is Mr. Peebles.  This kitty has a weight of around 3 pounds and a height of 6.1 inches. This is because of genetic deficiency.
• Oldest cat : The name of this oldest one is Creme Puff and it was born on August 3, 1967.  The animal was 38 years old at the time of its death.

Most Expensive Bag in the World

And the most expensive bag ever in the world goes to: The Hermes Birkin created by Japanese designer Ginza Tanaka at a costly price of $1.9 million.

The Birkin bag is made of lustrous platinum and consists over 2,000 diamonds.  The diamond strap of the bag can also be used as a necklace or bracelet in addition to it being a handbag or purse. Also, the bag has an 8-carat pear shaped diamond which can be detached and used separately.

Moreover, the world’s smallest mobile phone packs a music player with a 2 GB internal memory. Also, the keypad looks a little strange as it doesn’t come up with the regular alphanumeric keypad that everyone’s familiar with. Well, I’m sure that would leave us thinking about how the navigation works. The small cellular phone offers 8 hours of music playback time and 2.5 hours of talk time or 100 hours of standby time with its 530 mAh battery.

In addition, it has a 1.3 inch OLED screen and supports Bluetooth technology as well as USB connectivity. The cost of this small Modu mobile phone is about $100 though it seems a little difficult to find where to buy.  However, in the Philippines the world’s smallest cellphone is already available via Globe Telecom.

It was noted that in 2009, a four-year old Great Dane from San Diego, California named Titan was the previous record holder of the world’s tallest dog ever.  But because of George’s 3-quarters of an inch, Titan had to bow down. Titan stands 42.25 inches tall.  Preceding Titan was a Harlequin Great Dane, Gibson of Grass Valley, California who stood at 42.2 inches tall.

Giant George lives with his owner David Nasser. Did you know that his owner has to shell out around $300 monthly? He has to provide George with an enormous 110 pounds of food every week.  This world’s tallest living dog ever recorder seems to be living much like royalty.  He even sleeps in his own queen-size bed.  The largest canine is also a big fan of golf carts. Lastly, he’s become quite a celebrity, too.  He’s even appeared in shows like Oprah and Conan O’Brien’s Tonight Show with his master.

For sure, Giant George has become an envy of other pet owners.  But, you, guys need not be dispirited as Craig Glenday of Guinness World Records said that they are actually looking for other record breakers including – the smallest dog, a dog with the longest ears, the oldest dog, as well as the smallest and oldest cat.

World's Fattest Baby - Nadia Khalina (click to enlarge)

A lucky mother gave birth to an extraordinary baby.  It was a baby girl with the name Nadia Khalina.  She was welcomed to the world with the whopping weight 7.75 kg 9 (17.1 lb) on September 17, 2007.  She was delivered by a Cesarean section at a clinic in the Altai region in Siberia City.  That baby girl made a world record for being the fattest baby on earth.

The mother and child were both fine during and after the delivery.  But the world’s fattest baby was moved to a better hospital in Barnaul for better medical supervision.  She is just one of the 11 children in the family. She has eight sisters and three brothers.

The weight of Nadia is really unbelievable because according to international statistics, an average weight for newborn babies is about 7 lbs, 1 oz.  Nadia must be really fat and huge!

If you think Nadia is the heaviest baby ever, you are mistaken.  In 1879, a baby was born in the US and the Guinness Book of world Records registered him/her as the world’s fattest kid for weighing 23 lbs, 12 oz (10.7 kg).  Unfortunately, the poor baby passed away 11 hours just after birth.  The heaviest existing was born in 1955 in Italy with 22 lbs. and 8 oz (10.15 kg) at birth. Other sources say that the largest baby ever is Tomasso Cipriani with 28 lbs and 4 oz and the biggest baby was born in the Russian city of Irkutsk.  There was also a Chinese woman who thought to have delivered the heaviest baby, but it was a mistake. On the other hand, the smallest baby is named Rumaisa Rahman who is more than 16 inches long.

Robert Pershing Wadlow of Alton Illinois  – Tallest Man in the World

This world’s tallest man in medical history was born in February 22, 1918 in Alton, Illinois, USA and was the first born of Addie and Harold Franklin Wadlow who later had four other children whom were all normal.

Robert Pershing Wadlow, when he was still alive, has been very active in a couple of organizations.  Among them is the Boy Scouts where, of course, he has been the tallest ever. In 1936, he planned on being a lawyer, but due to his skyrocketing height, his studies were hindered for the reason that he used to have trouble walking from a campus building to another.  Most of the times, he was treated because of his foot problems.

Because Robert Pershing Wadlow’s feet were very large and his shoe size was 37AA, his legs were not proportioned in size to his torso and head, he would always require leg braces so he could walk.  Who would have thought that those leg braces would also play a part on his death? In July 1940, he died in a hotel in Manistee, Michigan because of a faulty brace that then irritated his right ankle.  The irritation caused a blister which progressed to a super infection. He succumbed to his illness at the age of 22 years old.  Robert Pershing Wadlow was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Alton. His coffin measured ten feet and nine inches long, thirty two inches wide, and thirty inches deep.

If you are wondering why some people would grow this tall is because of a condition called Acromegalic gigantism.  This occurs when the pituitary gland produces extreme amount of human growth hormone.  Some people noted to have this condition are Sandy Allen which was known as the world’s tallest woman, Sultan Kosen  who has also been a subject for the world’s tallest man who ever existed.  On the other hand, there are also people experiencing dwarfism which is caused by the pituitary gland not producing enough of this human growth hormone.   An example of which is Gul Mohammed from India with the height of 1 foot 10.5 inches only.

The tallest hotels in the world are found in Asia. Have you heard of Rose Tower in Dubai?  It’s actually the world’s tallest hotel with the height of 333 m (1,093 ft) and with 72 floors.   It was built in 2007 but it is not operating yet.   The tallest building in the world is also situated in the same city.  It’s called Burj Khalifa.  It is surrounded by hotels, shopping destinations, and entertainment options.  These are the pride of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The second world’s tallest hotel is Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang, North Korea. It is 330 m (1,083 ft) tall.  It has 105 floors.  It has reached its full architectural height in 1992.  This is also the first building outside New York & Chicago with over 100 floors.

Next in line is another building from Dubai. Burj Al Arab, the third tallest hotel in the world.  It is 321 m (1,053 ft) tall with 60 floors.  It was built in 1999. Burj is Arabic for Tower.  The profile of an Arabic sailing ship has a great influence on the design of the building.  It also features a total of eight restaurants and bars. This hotel also has helipad.

Ever wonder who the fattest man in the world is? This article is about the world’s fattest man ever.  The person im talking is Manuel Uribe.  He had reached 560 kilos (1,244 pounds) weight but he managed to lose 200 kilos (444 pounds) with Zone diet.

He is a resident of Monterrey, Northern Mexico.  It was reported that Guinness World Records included him on the 2008 edition of the Records Book with his photograph and on the 2009 edition for the most incredible weight loss in a year.  This is his new mission-to shoot a second entry into the record book, a world record weight loss!  The description of the treatment he has had and offers of surgery have been included in the 2008 edition, too.

He has been suffering from obesity for 20 years which made him immobilized on bed and kept him captive in his own house.

World Tallest Man Today in Guiness World Records - Sultan Kosen stands 8 foot 1 inches Tall

The tallest man in the world today (year 2009) is Sultan Kosen recently discovered by Guiness World Records.  Sultan Kosen’s height is 8 foot 1 inches tall.  He beat Bao XiShun – a mongolian who recently hold the record of the World Tallest Man in Guiness World Records.  Bao XiShun stands 7 foot 9 Inches Tall.  He beat Leonid Stadnyk – a Ukrainian who claims that he is 8 foot 5 inches tall.  Bao XiShun(7’9″ tall) won over Leonid Stadnyk (8’5″ tall) because the Ukrainian refused to Guiness World Records to be measured.

Sultan Kosen is the world tallest man today but he’s still not the World Tallest Ever in history.  He would still look upward to Robert Pershing Wadlow – the World tallest man ever who walked the earth.  Robert Wadlow’ height was 8 foot 11 inches tall.  He lived at Alton Illinois from 1918 to 1940.  Robert Wadlow died because of faulty leg brace which causing a large blister which then led to major infection.
